What Guangzhou makes

  • Consumer products across dozens of categories
  • Apparel, textiles, and fashion accessories
  • Household goods and small kitchenware
  • Beauty and personal care packaging
  • General trading and export services

Why here

Why overseas buyers source from Guangzhou

  • Home of the Canton Fair — twice a year, the largest B2B trade show in the world.
  • Deep pool of trading companies with export licenses, useful when your factory does not have its own.
  • Excellent for mixed-category shipments — one consolidator can pack a container across ten product lines.
  • Strong wholesale markets (Yide Lu, Zhanxi) for buyers who prefer to source from physical showrooms.
  • Well-connected port and airport with direct routes to Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia.

Operations

How I work on the ground in Guangzhou

01

Trading company vetting

Guangzhou has more trading companies than actual factories. I verify whether your quoted supplier owns production, or is passing your order down the chain — and price accordingly.

02

Canton Fair scouting

Twice a year I attend Canton Fair on behalf of remote buyers. Half a day at the fair filters more suppliers than three weeks of Alibaba messaging.

03

Consolidated shipping

For buyers running mixed-category catalogues I coordinate one 40ft container packed across multiple suppliers, cutting per-unit freight cost significantly.

Questions buyers ask

Frequently asked.

Do you charge a commission from factories?

No. Compensation comes only from the buyer — this keeps advice independent, and it’s the single most important reason clients say they picked me.

What is the minimum order value you support?

Projects typically start where a factory is willing to run a proper production sample. As a rule of thumb, engagements below USD 5,000 landed value tend not to justify the QC and audit costs — but I’m happy to say so honestly on the call.

Can you handle inspections without full sourcing?

Yes. Pre-shipment inspection is offered as a standalone service, priced per man-day plus travel from Shenzhen.

Which industries do you work with most?

Consumer electronics, gifts and promotional goods, home hardware, and mid-complexity assembled products. I decline categories where I don’t have a working supplier network.

How are you paid?

Fixed-fee per phase (sourcing, verification, QC), agreed in writing before the engagement begins. No percentage of order value, no kickbacks.
