What Shenzhen makes

  • Consumer electronics and IoT devices
  • Wearables, smart home, audio hardware
  • Custom PCB assembly and injection moulding
  • Product design and rapid prototyping
  • Batteries and power accessories

Why here

Why overseas buyers source from Shenzhen

  • Densest electronics component supply chain in the world — Huaqiangbei sits inside the city.
  • Product-development cycles that would take three months in Europe or the US often take three weeks here.
  • Access to both massive OEM factories and small workshops for low-MOQ runs.
  • English-speaking sales staff more common than in inland manufacturing cities.
  • Direct flights and Hong Kong access make in-person factory visits practical for overseas teams.

Operations

How I work on the ground in Shenzhen

01

Factory walk-throughs in one day

Most Shenzhen electronics factories are within a 30-minute drive of each other. I can visit three shortlisted factories in a single day and send you photos and notes by that evening.

02

Prototype in a week

For product-development projects, I coordinate with local prototyping shops for 3D-printed enclosures and small-run PCB assembly, typically delivered in 5–7 days.

03

Sample review with the factory

I sit with the engineer at the factory, not on WeChat. Design-for-manufacturing feedback comes back the same day, not the next week.

Questions buyers ask

Frequently asked.

Do you charge a commission from factories?

No. Compensation comes only from the buyer — this keeps advice independent, and it’s the single most important reason clients say they picked me.

What is the minimum order value you support?

Projects typically start where a factory is willing to run a proper production sample. As a rule of thumb, engagements below USD 5,000 landed value tend not to justify the QC and audit costs — but I’m happy to say so honestly on the call.

Can you handle inspections without full sourcing?

Yes. Pre-shipment inspection is offered as a standalone service, priced per man-day plus travel from Shenzhen.

Which industries do you work with most?

Consumer electronics, gifts and promotional goods, home hardware, and mid-complexity assembled products. I decline categories where I don’t have a working supplier network.

How are you paid?

Fixed-fee per phase (sourcing, verification, QC), agreed in writing before the engagement begins. No percentage of order value, no kickbacks.

Ready when you are

Need help sourcing from China?

A short brief and I’ll respond within one business day, Shenzhen time. No obligation, no upsell — just an honest read on whether I’m the right partner for your project.
