Foshan is China’s furniture and building-materials centre. If your product weighs more than a shoebox and involves wood, ceramic, stone, or upholstery, Foshan almost certainly makes it — at scale, and often at prices unmatched anywhere else in the country.

Cluster

What Foshan makes

  • Furniture — home, office, hotel, outdoor
  • Ceramics — tile, sanitary ware, tableware
  • Building materials — doors, windows, hardware
  • Home textiles — bedding, cushions, curtains
  • Lighting and small appliances

Why here

Why overseas buyers source from Foshan

  • The single largest furniture cluster in the world, with dozens of dedicated furniture towns inside the prefecture.
  • Highly integrated supply chains — wood, foam, upholstery fabric, and hardware all sourced within 30 km of the assembly plant.
  • Home to the CIFF (China International Furniture Fair), a critical show for anyone in the category.
  • Competitive pricing on volume orders — a factory here quoting a chair is competing with 200 others at the same MOQ.
  • Strong export experience with Europe, North America, and the Middle East hospitality sector.

Operations

How I work on the ground in Foshan

01

Category-matched factory shortlist

Foshan has enough factories that ‘a furniture factory’ is not specific enough. I match project to sub-category (dining sets, upholstered seating, wardrobes) before requesting quotes.

02

Materials and finish sample review

Furniture defects come from the finish, not the frame. I inspect materials and factory finish samples before you commit to the sample round.

03

Container loading supervision

Furniture damaged in the container is a common and expensive claim. I attend container loading for large orders to confirm packaging and stacking.

Questions buyers ask

Frequently asked.

Do you charge a commission from factories?

No. Compensation comes only from the buyer — this keeps advice independent, and it’s the single most important reason clients say they picked me.

What is the minimum order value you support?

Projects typically start where a factory is willing to run a proper production sample. As a rule of thumb, engagements below USD 5,000 landed value tend not to justify the QC and audit costs — but I’m happy to say so honestly on the call.

Can you handle inspections without full sourcing?

Yes. Pre-shipment inspection is offered as a standalone service, priced per man-day plus travel from Shenzhen.

Which industries do you work with most?

Consumer electronics, gifts and promotional goods, home hardware, and mid-complexity assembled products. I decline categories where I don’t have a working supplier network.

How are you paid?

Fixed-fee per phase (sourcing, verification, QC), agreed in writing before the engagement begins. No percentage of order value, no kickbacks.

Ready when you are

Need help sourcing from China?

A short brief and I’ll respond within one business day, Shenzhen time. No obligation, no upsell — just an honest read on whether I’m the right partner for your project.
